On Monday, March 24, 2025, the second-to-last workshop was held as part of the “National Agricultural and Food Products Traceability System” project, supported by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, and through the Economic Reform Implementation Support Unit. The project is being executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Middle East Ports Consulting and Technology Company. The workshop covered several key topics, including the recommendation to implement a hybrid traceability model after evaluating various models (centralized, decentralized, hybrid), discussing the appropriate legislative framework to ensure the system’s inclusiveness, flexibility, and effective implementation, as well as reviewing the results of a survey on the data that can be shared or stored within the system. The workshop also presented the Vietnamese experience and the lessons learned from it, emphasizing the importance of involving the private sector, agreeing on the required data, and adopting advanced technology to enhance operational efficiency and meet the demands of changing markets.
The workshop was attended by 43 representatives from 28 entities across various government, private, and civil society sectors. They provided valuable contributions and recommendations towards building an effective and comprehensive national traceability system that enhances the safety of agricultural and food products and keeps pace with market developments.
