Jordan’s Flag Day

On the occasion of Jordan’s Flag Day, we celebrate today the national symbol that proudly flies above the kingdom’s skies, the flag that carries within it the meanings of sovereignty and national identity. This flag is considered a symbol of national unity and loyalty to the Hashemite leadership, strengthened by laws and regulations that ensure its dignity and protection.

The Jordanian Constitution of 1952 specifies the characteristics of the flag, detailing its shape and dimensions precisely, and showcasing the colors that represent our history and development. Additionally, the Jordanian Flag Law No. 23 of 2004 regulates the use of the flag on all occasions, including the places it should be flown, the times it should be raised, and the provisions for replacing and disposing of it when necessary. This law aims to promote respect for the flag, imposing strict penalties on those who intentionally disrespect it, thus safeguarding its dignity as a symbol of national sovereignty.
